I am Mila D. Robril, a teacher of MOGCHS, Cagayan de Oro City. I am a cancer patient who survived life's trial because of faith in God. I want to share my testimony to the readers for them to know that God is the only maker of life and despite all trials that may cross our path, only Him and He alone knows. Therefore, we should never lost hope that someday somehow the real cure of the disease that we are experiencing now will come and heal us. For me, only God knows when our life comes to an end. I know its not easy realizing life's existence on earth. What just I know now is that with God I will survive and what I can do now is to do in accordance with his will and He will do the rest.Brief History:
In 2002, I was operated for the removal of my gallbladder stones. I was happy that at last I could be in good shape already. But then in 2004, for just 2 years, I was discovered to have lympnodes under my neck. Again I undergo operation and taken some samples for biopsy. It was then discovered that I have a nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (a cancer found on the human's naso). Few days later, we proceeded to Cebu for final diagnosis before the treatment starts. With affirmative results, it was then that my first Chemotherapy started. Series of chemotherapy and 35 sessions of radiation therapy had to be performed to really destroy the cancer cells. It was a nightmare to me especially that we have no enough money for such treatments. We really do not know where to find thousands of pesos for the said treatment. God really is good because everything that we requested from him were all granted. I believed that if you really found him in your hearts, everything you need will be just around the corner. There are people who really shared their shelter, food, consultations, finance and many other donations that came along to help me. Thanks God for all of their support.The First Miracle:It was February 24, 2004, 2 days after my birthday that I was operated to get sample for Biopsy and we were given 10 days to wait for the result. On February 29, that was Sunday, I and my family were assigned as the mass offerer at Sacred Heart RER, Kauswagan Church and we were so happy that of all the people, we were given that very slim chance. While waiting for the final result, I really felt bad because I'm afraid of the outcome and because of fear, I almost die, and I cannot breathe anymore. I cannot escape that feeling of fear as If I die now. I prayed so hard night and day asking the Lord to ease my fear and miraculously, God offered me a simple solution that came into my mind after praying so hard the word, Acceptance. For me to accept that I have cancer and after a while, I was already relieved and for me starting from the church, to my asking God for me to ease my fear which was answered were all miracles in my part otherwise, I could have died already before I could receive the said result.The second miracle:
We were in Cebu Doctors' Hospital for a check-up with Dr. Alsay Uy, the best oncologist as per recommendation of Dr. Cabatingan, one of the friends of my sister in Cebu. After the check-up, Dr. Uy called my husband and my sister for a short conference without my presence and confirmed that my Nasopharyngeal CA is already at its far-advanced stage and that are we willing to continue the treatment even my hopeless condition. Dr. Uy told them all the negative possibilities like; the pain and sacrifices in Chemo treatment and Radiation Therapy, trauma experiences, or die while on Chemo and financial capabilities to support a cancer patient on treatment. But despite all these information, my husband decided to continue treatment. I called this miracle from God because have I known that my cancer is already at its far-advanced stage, I myself will not undergo treatment anymore. I know that we don't have the capacity to pay the said treatment and with all the risks that I have to gamble, I rather wait to die for this disease. God is really helping me.The third miracle:
We don't really know where to get the finances needed for the treatment. We are going to spent almost 90 thousand per session of chemo excluding 35 sessions of Radiation Therapy and other laboratories needed before the treatment and there were emergencies where I need to be admitted because of the need to blood transfuse and times when my body collapse due to very low white blood cells count and other infections. I really do not know where we get the amount. Its a miracle and really the blessings from the Lord that teachers, administrators, school staff, my Deped family, parents, GPTA and students from our school, closest friends especially in my T.L.E. department and abroad, some politicians like Senator Nene Pimentel and Congressman Tennix Jaraula, anonymous individuals, PCSO, brothers and sisters especially Inday and family, my niece and his husband, Takeo Kobayashi, including people here in Cebu were touched by the Lord to help me. Mrs. Mela Aton and family who shared us her house, food, transportation and other needs for 4 months free without any obligations, people and close friends of San Vicente Ferrer Church, my doctors and nurses in the hospital, to Maam Maru Aton and family who really took care of me while I'm on treatment and all the people who shared their time and savings for me. Its really the hands of Lord that touches their hearts for me to live longer.The fourth miracle:
My life now is dedicated for the Lord. I'm serving Him to the fullest extent I could do. Despite my ill physical conditions, most often times I really have to get up and serve Him. According to my doctors, there were only few cases of cancer patients who really are cured and cancer disease will come back anytime when triggered. I am not afraid now. In fact, I'm happy that I survived those painful trials of my life. I'm in my 6 years now since my last treatment in 2004 and I'm still here sharing my life with the Lord's protection and guidance especially to those people who hesitates in believing Him. I really know that God is always there willing to help us, you ask him and in return, He will do mysterious things. All my life is in entrusted to him now. He knows my time. It has been a miracle to me for this life extension. Some patients, despite their money, did not survive. Now I'm very happy with my devotion of the Divine Mercy and my Divine Mercy family of the Santa Faustina Kowalska Apostolate community headed by Mr. and Mrs. Olano and the support of the Divine Mercy Foundation of Mindanao headed by Atty and Mrs. Adaza who really work hard for the construction of the Ulaliman Divine Mercy 50 footer statue. With them and with the guidance of our Lord the good news will be known not only here in our place but in every heart of every people throughout the world who needs help from our Lord, Jesus Christ.The Fifth Miracle:
I'm so happy that until today I'm still alive and kicking. Its been 8 years now since my last treatment in 2004. Thank God for everything.
